Session Times
BT Run Club has four sessions each week, three are mixed with a women-only cardio session on a Wednesday afternoon. All session leave from the car park of the Collins Street Community Centre in South Perth other than the Wednesday Sessions that meet at the South Perth Foreshore (at the end of Coode Street near the Wesley Boatshed).

Guildford Long Intervals: 5:45am
Location: Woodbridge Riverside Park by the Swan River. Click here for a map of the meeting point.
Long Intervals
This session is ideal for those wishing to build endurance, fitness and strength. If you’re training for a particular event – whether it’s a 10k, fun run, marathon or triathlon – longer intervals will help you build endurance and enable you to maintain a consistent tempo for your event. Quite aside from event-specific training, longer intervals (from 1000 – 3000m) will gradually develop general fitness. If you want to ‘toughen up’, this is a good place to start!
Different versions of the session are tailored for individuals depending on level of fitness and the stage of your program, though they are still intended to reach the same goal.
This session is typically finished by around 7.30am (back at the car park) and there are shower facilities and a breakfast available after the session before you head off for work…or wherever.

WEDNESDAY EVENING, 6:00pm
(Location: Wesley Boatshed, South Perth Foreshore)
The Band of Sisters & Band of Brothers
The Band of Sisters and Band of Brothers are a bunch of women and men committed to helping and encouraging each other towards their fitness goals by turning up and working out together. The session takes men and women who are completely new to running (or haven’t run in a long time), and moves them through a 9-week ‘Walk2Run’ program that culminates in a 5km race. Members of the Band of Sisters and Band of Brothers commit to running two organised sessions together through the program (Wednesday 6pm and Saturday 7:30am) with a third wither on their own – or informally organised with someone else from the ‘band’.
Through the program, we cover motivation, form, training rationale, diet, gear, and anything anyone wants to bring up about running! And we do some running!
Band of Sisters and Band of Brothers run as 9-week programs. They are scheduled at particular times of the year beginning in the first weeks of February, June, and October (subject to demand).

WEDNESDAY EVENING, 6:00pm
(Location: Wesley Boatshed, South Perth Foreshore)
Wednesday Intervals Group
The former Band of Sisters has ‘graduated’ to this mixed intervals session which is available for men and women alike. The session is perfect for those who have done some running and want to run with a group but aren’t quite ready to dive into long/short intervals on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The sessions are coached by Simon Elliott and are a mix of shorter and longer intervals.
If you’re newer to running, returning to running, staying accountable to a resolution or weight goal, or building towards an event, this session will be a reliable punctuation mark in your week’s training. You can slip right in…

THURSDAY MORNING, 6:15am
Location: Collins Street Community Centre, South Perth
Short Intervals (currently alternating with Progression Runs every other Thursday)
Short intervals build speed, fitness and strength. Either in tandem with Tuesday’s session or a stand alone, the session will drag you out of mono-paced running and help you become more aware of your different thresholds.
While based around short intervals, the sessions are developed to help grow speed and endurance and simulate racing situations as well.
This session will also have you back around 7.30am (at the car park) and there are shower facilities available after the session before you head off for work…or wherever.

SATURDAY MORNINGS, runs leaving from 5:30am (details each week on Facebook)
Location: Collins Street Community Centre, South Perth – drinks after at 9 Collins Street, South Perth
Group run & Long Runs
This session is a group run: no intervals, no repetitions, just a run or walk/run with runners of similar ability to you.
The session typically has you back at the car park around 8.30am (or, more commonly, back at Simon & Fi’s house for a drink, coffee and de-brief of the run you’ve just had!).
Some runners have used this session as the base of their long run and take off earlier to finish with the main group with groups commonly starting at 6am, 6:30am and 7:00am before the main group at 7:30am. If you’re keen on being on the long run train, keep an eye on the Facebook group to see when different groups are heading out – there’s invariably a thread in the days leading up to the Saturday talking about starting times/pace/distance for various groups.
